Brief description of the Club's Journey
Explore a few of the milestones that have shaped Exit Tours M/C since its inception.
2012
Foundation of Exit Tours M/C
Exit Tours M/C was founded in Salida, Colorado, with the vision of promoting responsible trail use and organizing rides for Like-minded motorcycle enthusiasts.
- Salida is where the Arkansas River exits the mountains and Salida means ‘Exit’ in Spanish.
- Tours because we tour the Mountains.
- Hence ‘Exit Tours’.
In 2012 the Club held it’s first Singletrack Trailride from Sargents, Colorado with the SVFD.
And the 1st X-Roads of the Rockies from the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. (Pictured)
- In 2013 we again hosted X-Roads and put on a Hot Springs Adventure Tour.
- Round 13 of the AMA Yamaha Super Tenere Adventure Series.
- 3 Days, 900 miles, 3 hot springs.
- Cottonwood Hot Springs, Glenwood Springs & the Great Sand Dunes Hot Springs.
2014
First Major Trail Adoption
Partnered with the USFS to adopt and maintain Greens Creek in the San Isabel National Forest, enhancing access and sustainability for future riders.
- Greens Creek was under threat at that time from the Quiet-Use Coalition.
- Greens Creek is the Only trail that still connects Hwy 50 to the Continental Divide Trail.
- The club maintained Greens Creek for 10 years.
2015
Expansion of Ride Events
Expanded our club ride events to include new routes across the Rockies, attracting riders from across the country.
Hosted multiple Dual Sport, Singletrack & Adventure Rides since.
2018
Created the San Andreas 300
Launched the SA 300 from Pozo to Ballinger Canyon with a group of old friends from the Central Coast.
- Back in the late 80’s to mid-90’s we all had put on the Leapin’ Lizard Enduro in Balliger Canyon.
- And we had all grown up riding the Cal Poly Penguins Hi-Mountain Enduro in Pozo.
- Which had morphed into the Penguins Hi-Mountain Dual Sport.
The Penguins were having issues with the USFS at the time, which we saw as an opportunity for the Club based San Andreas 300 Dual Sport ride.

What Our Club Members Say:
On the Continental Divide Ride “I thought the routes were a good length and a good mix of easy riding with a few challenges.
I like the concept. I don’t want to follow a guide. And the tracks worked great”
GF
The “Ride with GPS” tracks were spot on – their preparation was spot on, and I don’t think anyone who followed the Blue Line was lost, or even confused. This is the best way to do it that I have ever seen.
Mike M
“The whole concept for these rides is BRILLIANT! Having gone or rides like this or similar to this over the past 10 years – this is the best that I have ever seen it done.
Worth every penny spent!”
