Explore the San Andreas 300 Route

Begin this Dual Sport Adventure 30 miles east of San Luis Obispo, on a private Ranch surrounded by ancient California oak trees.

The journey kicks off near the site of the historic Cal Poly Penguins Hi-Mountain Enduro staging area.

Traverse diverse terrain as you make your way to Ballinger Canyon, the legendary site of the Leapin’ Lizard Enduro.

The route promises a blend of public dirt roads, 2-Track, singletrack trails, and a few miles of open highways, offering a dynamic riding experience.

Riders will have the opportunity to camp and stage, eat & drink from the private Ranch in Pozo and in Ballinger Canyon, enhancing the camaraderie and excitement for the ride.

The return route on Sunday offers even more challenge on the ‘A’ and B+ loops, with a fantastic trail over Pine Mountain and down the ‘Steps’.

  • Easier Options are available.

Routes are rated ‘A’, B+, B and Adventure.

  • The ‘A’ routes are for those looking for a challenge.
  • B+ for a more modest challenge.
  • B and Adventure contain no real challenge.
  • Just fun Dual Sport and Adventure loops.

From Pozo riders can navigate through rugged singletrack, 2-Track and hills that wind through the picturesque landscape of the Santa Lucia Mountains.

  • The Carrizo Plains and past Soda Dry Lake offer outstanding scenery.
  • Then traverse along the Temblor Range, the San Andreas Fault & Hurricane Ridge.
  • Through the eastern Cuyama Valley and up to Ballinger Canyon.

Remote California Hwy’s 58, 166 & 33 tie it all together.

The ‘A’ loop trails offer a mix of technical challenges and scenic vistas, while the B and Adventure loops will provide a smooth ride through nearly the same iconic scenery.

  • The B+ loop through Pozo is somewhat tamer than the ‘A’ Loop.

This Dual Sport adventure is designed for those who seek the thrill of diverse riding conditions.

  • We’ll stage, eat, drink and camp in Ballinger Canyon at Songdog Ranch from Saturday afternoon and depart Sunday.
